Introduction

Maya works with adults, ages 30 – 65, experiencing or recovering from difficult relationship patterns and life events (childhood adversity, narcissistic parents or partners, romance scams, high-conflict divorce and co-parenting, emotional manipulation, coercive/controlling partners, etc). People experiencing difficult relationship patterns often deal with loneliness, depression, people-pleasing, anxiety, panic attacks, an over-scheduled life, exhaustion, and self-doubt. Working with Maya will involve a combination of “connection” and “calming” practices designed to shift your nervous system out of a state of chronic stress, and reduce crippling anxiety, depression, and PTSD. You can expect your treatment to draw on: (1) restorative practices that you can start using right away, such as relaxed breathing, mindfulness, sound bathing, guided meditation, yoga and other bodywork and (2) Attachment Theory, a science-based therapeutic approach that can help you to easily understand yourself and your relationships, and change the relationship patterns that keep you feeling alone, defeated, and stuck. Maya has been helping individuals and communities grow and connect for more than 30 years. Originally from NJ, Maya hails from a family steeped in values of service, learning, and community. Maya received her B.A. in social/criminal justice from Howard University, her law degree from Duke University, and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University.
