Dr. Matt (he/him) is a queer licensed clinical psychologist in the State of California. I believe in the power of connection—connection to ourselves, our communities, and the legacies of those who came before us. I provide affirmative, empowerment-based, relational, psychodynamic (attachment- and insight-oriented), humanistic, existential, somatic (body-focused), cognitive-behavioral, and non-Western healing psychological services to adult populations, including individual psychotherapy, clinical consultations, supervised professional experience, and trainings. I specialize in working with: People of African descent across the diaspora (Afro-Latinx, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, Black, and African Immigrant) and who are racialized as Black; Indigenous and First Nations Peoples; Latine/Latinx Individuals; People of the Global Majority; Couples; Healthcare Workers, First Responders, Humanitarian Aid Workers; and 2SLGBTQIA+, gender diverse, and sexually expansive folks. Areas of focus for treatment vary but often center around trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, identity-related concerns, connection/disconnection, and family systems/parts work. I take a sex positive, body neutral approach.
