Introduction

Matt Dellon, MSW, is an integrative mental health therapist. Matt’s practice philosophy integrates talk therapy, holistic health coaching, and functional food as medicine. As a solution-focused, strengths-based, trauma-informed therapist, he collaborates with clients to co-investigate life events and themes to understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and actions manifest in current life experiences. He helps older adolescents and adults embrace their true identity, re-author their personal narrative, and find their New Normal. Matt’s goal as a therapist is to provide exceptional care and empower his clients to live life on their terms with intention, authenticity, purpose, clarity, and meaning. __________________________________________________________________________ The mind and body are part of a complex, interconnected system, and treating the whole person can be essential for healing. In addition to traditional talk therapy, Matt has the ability to facilitate discussions to help clients achieve holistic healing. Identifying eating patterns, food preference options, exercise routines, sleep habits, and emotional, biological, social, or environmental triggers can help improve overall mental health. Together, you and Matt will employ an innovative, functional approach to health optimization that promotes a future of healing, informed by your past, to achieve your wellness goals. __________________________________________________________________________ After graduating from American University and The Johns Hopkins University, Matt held various Intelligence roles in the public and private sector National Security field for nearly 20 years. In 2019, Matt experienced a traumatic life event that led him to find his New Normal as a mental health therapist, a role he first felt drawn to at age 13. Matt’s personal, lifelong experience overcoming physical and behavioral health challenges inspired the creation of New Normal Healing to empower others to do the same. He is a 2023 MSW graduate of the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. Matt also is a Certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant, and will be a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Health and Wellness Coach later this year. Matt is working toward clinical licensure in Virginia under the supervision of Dr. Sonya Boone.
