Introduction

SPIRIT - Reiki, Sound Healing Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that promotes physical and emotional well-being. It can be used to reduce stress and anxiety, relieve pain, and promote better sleep. Often considered a complementary healing technique, as well as a spiritual practice. Sound healing is the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body/mind of a person with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony and health. It is based on the idea that all matter (including the human body) is vibrating at specific frequencies. Disease, illness and pain are thought to be caused by blockages or imbalances in these natural vibratory rates. When these blockages are removed, health and well-being is restored. MIND - Talk Therapy When our mind and body are disconnected we often experience psychological (anxiety, depression, irritability, uncertainty about our path in life) or physiological (headaches, stomach upset, muscle tension, fatigue) distress. Once we are able to accurately identify the signals our body has been trying to send us and connect it to the emotions we are feeling, we can begin to change the way we react to our environment and the patterns we've put in place to keep ourselves safe. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to therapeutic work. I have found that by combining talk therapy (Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) with holistic modalities, such as auricular (ear) acupuncture, Reiki energy, and sound healing, we can let down our guard and access the inner wisdom we hold to lead a heart-centered, full life. BODY - Auricular Acupuncture Auricular Acupuncture or auriculotherapy is focused on the auricle, the external cartilage portion of our ears. It is believed that the ear is a microsystem that reflects the entire body. Auriculotherapy is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat and even prevent conditions including but not limited to: anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, nausea, and cravings (food and substance).
