A therapist once told me that I needed to love all aspects of myself. Soooooo naturally I ran down a list of things that I hated about myself with an "Even that one?" attitude. She didn't budge. She told me that I needed to be kinder to myself and appreciate how each part of me has been helpful in some way to keep me safe. That was one of the hardest lessons I ever had to learn.....self-compassion. It is something that I still strive for on a daily basis. It is self-compassion that brought me here today and it is self-compassion that I want to instill into all of my clients. That way of thinking is what got me hooked on the S.A.F.E. EMDR approach. Taking a look at all the things that you have learned to despise about yourself and knowing that they have been there for you like a cuddly blanket and a cup of coffee with whipped cream and sugar free vanilla syrup (or whatever safe means to you). You are already so amazing. With S.A.F.E. EMDR we can work together to find out what you need to believe it for yourself and live a truly authentic life. After having my own personal success with this approach and hearing so many other stories of success, I decided to become certified through the Personal Transformation Institute. I am currently going through the process and will soon be 100% certified.
