Introduction

Hello and welcome! My name is Mary Dierenfield. I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in Marriage Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling and Depth Psychotherapy from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I have six years of counseling experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, families, all of which come from diverse backgrounds. I work in a collaborative, compassionate, and supportive way to help my clients sift through their inner emotional life. My experience includes working with anxiety, life transitions, major depression, family conflict, premarital issues, postpartum experience, young childhood trauma, PTSD, isolation, and grief/loss. My treatment approach is a blend of Humanistic, Attachment, Client-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral and Depth Psychotherapy. I see each person as a unique individual which means the treatment plan reflects the needs and goals of each person/couple/family. While the practice of attending weekly therapy can cause discomfort and emotional unease, you may also experience some of the benefits of becoming more aware of your behaviors, patterns, and upbringing. I hold a deep sense of respect for everyone who make the decision to attend therapy. My Specialties and Treatment Issues Anxiety, grief/loss, and life transitions are my main focus areas. I also have experience working with: addiction, codependency, depression, family conflict, pre-marital/marital conflicts, parenting, pregnancy & postpartum, relationship issues, school issues, self-esteem, stress, trauma & PTSD, and women’s issues.
