Everyone experiences challenges in life that can feel insurmountable. Talking to a trained professional can provide comfort, hope and direction during difficult times. Connecting with a therapist takes courage, but if you are ready to take that step, it is worth the effort! My name is Mary Ann Konstas. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I earned my Master of Science and Educational Specialist degrees in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University and I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I believe that clients are best able to meet the goals of therapy in an environment where they are unconditionally accepted and empathically understood. It is such a sacred privilege to be trusted with my clients' thoughts, feelings, and experiences and I am passionate about providing a safe space for clients to be vulnerable as they seek relief, understanding, and growth. I work with individual adults and older teenagers dealing with a variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, family and marital challenges, perinatal mental health, grief, adjustment issues, anger management, and ADHD. I practice therapy by utilizing an eclectic mixture of modalities and theories depending on the client's needs. However, I often combine client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients meet their goals. I believe that a person’s thoughts are powerful tools in creating either dysfunction or peace. When we identify ways in which our thoughts shame us or hurt us, we can replace those faulty thoughts with the truth and experience relief and peace. I believes that CBT offers clients the power that Paul references in his letter to the Philippians: “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Ch 4 vs 8) I am a Tampa native and have been married to my wonderful husband for 15 years and we have three children. When I am not in the office, I enjoy reading, any opportunity to craft and create, writing, and new adventures with my young family. **GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE** Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
