I am a licensed clinical social work therapist, practicing since 2013. I offer individual, couples and group therapy. I am licensed to practice therapy in New York and Illinois. I provide services in English and Polish. I specialize in treating adults with the following conditions: depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, trauma, relationship issues, parenting challenges, grief and life-stage transitions. I use psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies, and systems perspective. I incorporate dream work, meditation, and breathing and relaxation exercises into my sessions. I have trained in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed approach, relational group therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I continue to educate myself about the research in the field of psychology and social work to maintain evidence-based practice so I can ensure the effectiveness of my clients’ treatment. Each person is capable of healing and improving his/her/their life, but change is a unique process. My goal as your therapist is to support you in finding what you are looking for and to help you discover what works and what does not work for you. I will aim to create a space that is safe and shielded from the outside noise, to help you examine what stands in your way of living a happy and fulfilled life, and to offer guidance in making the changes you desire. You will learn how to find your own answers and how to make your own decisions. I premise my work on the belief that it is never too late to be happy, and the conviction that the sky is the limit if one looks for his/her/their answers from within. For more information on my approach and how I work, please visit my website at www.martalaurettelcswr.com. I look forward to meeting with you and talking about what you need, what is important to you, and how I can help.
