"My passion is to meet people where they are at in life. We are all living our own stories, and I want to help you make your story the best it can be. I believe that God has created each of us for a purpose and helping you live that purpose to the fullest is where I want to be. Life is hard, and we do not have to do it alone. I want to uplift you and encourage you in your hardships. My goal is to bring you to a place of hopefulness, a joyful spirit, and a peaceful heart. I strive to create a warm, safe, and accepting environment where you can share your story. I am experienced in working with high schoolers and adults on issues relating to depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-harm, life adjustments, trauma, and self-esteem. I use Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University and received a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Faulkner University. I see individuals ages 15+, as well as couples and families." *Therese is currently conducting consultations and creating a waitlist for when she is licensed. Please set up a consultation with her at the link above. From Bishop James Conley, A Future With Hope The Catholic Context for Mental Health One might rightly ask, if we don’t speak of a Catholic physics or a Catholic biology, why do we need a Catholic understanding of mental health? The answer is because any notion of mental health is laden with beliefs about the human person, about true human anthropology. After all, if mental health refers to “a person’s cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being,” we must know what well-being means and what well-being looks like. But notions of human flourishing depend on one’s beliefs about the human person’s origins, purpose, and destiny. And so, a Catholic view of mental health is necessary because it defines well-being according to reason and revelation. https://www.lincolndiocese.org/afuturewithhope
