Introduction

Maritime consists of two psychologists - Mary Engelstatter, PhD, and Jonathan Marmorstein, MA, LPA. We are two psychologists who have lived in the Wilmington, NC area for over 20 years. Our love of the mind and our desire to be in the helping field has kept us passionate about mental health. For many of us, life can feel very stressful with many challenges, leading us to have negative thoughts or feelings of anxiety. If you are struggling to cope with life stress, we can help you navigate those feelings. At Maritime, we have extensive experience working with individuals in all stages of life, and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders, as well as those with a history of trauma or those who struggle with focus and attention. Through the therapeutic relationship, we work to help facilitate the learning and use of new coping skills. We believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential to bringing about effective change and attempt to provide everyone with a supportive, safe, and judgment-free environment. In addition to therapy, we have more than 15 years of experience in test administration and interpretation and conduct psychological evaluations and assessments. Dr. Mary Engelstatter is Psypact accredited and can see patients residing in the following states: North Carolina, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Both Dr. Engelstatter and Mr. Jonathan Marmorstein have completed Safe Zone training.
