I am a family counselor working primarily with youth and young adults. My areas of expertise include trauma recovery, healing from eating disorders, and preventing suicide and self harm. I believe healing is possible for everyone and finding the right fit in a counselor is important and even crucial in that process. Here are a couple things I want everyone to know that wants to work with me. I seek to empower you as the expert in your life, creating the life you want filled with hope, courage, and healing. Sometimes we do this through talk therapy. My favorite modalities include CBT, IFS, and Narrative. But sometimes, especially for trauma, we will might use EMDR, which is less talk therapy. If you have questions about any of these modalities feel free to ask me. I also like to look at areas of change through five lens: relationships, emotions, thoughts, physical health, and spirituality. Often times this may lead to us working alongside other professionals or building a support structure around you. Examples of these structures can include doctors, psychiatrists, dietitians, people for discipleship or sponsors, or even support/recovery groups.
