Introduction

I provide adult individual psychotherapy, specializing in depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma recovery. I help people identify thinking or behavior patterns that may be preventing them from resolving emotional issues, managing relationships, or achieving life goals. Sometimes treatment involves behavioral methods such as practicing new skills, keeping behavior charts or journaling. Other times, it's fruitful to dig a little deeper into where your issues originated and do some retroactive healing. Other clients may simply need information, resources or strategies to solve a specific problem. I am always there to provide support through empathy and encouragement. EXPERIENCE After completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Boston College , I earned both masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at Southern Illinois University. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in substance abuse treatment. I am licensed to practice psychology in the state of Washington (license #2446). “Licensure” means that I have passed a national written examination and an oral examination given by the Washington State Examining Board of Psychology. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association and the Washington State Psychological Association. Since earning my doctoral degree I have had 20 years professional experience working with clients facing a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, chronic severe mental illness, grief and loss, sexual trauma and other types of abuse.
