Introduction

ABOUT ME Serving Patients Since 2005 I'm Dr. Maria Cristina Cintron Laboy, a bicultural and bilingual licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. I graduated from Ponce Health Sciences University, Ponce School of Medicine in 2005 with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. I have over 16 years of experience in psychotherapy, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of various mental health disorders including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorrder and personality disorders. My approach to treatment is integrative primarily utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy. I have had the opportunity of working in a variety of treatment settings, including: inpatient, outpatient, community healthcare and private practice. This opportunities have allowed me to provide services to an ethnically, culturally, and socio-economically diverse patient population with a wide range of stressors and psychiatric complications. I am fluent in both English and Spanish languages. This allows me to provide therapy in either language. It is very important for me to be able to provide treatment that is linguistically and culturally informed, recognizing the importance of tailoring interventions to meet the needs of patients/clients in order to improve their treatment outcomes. Patient care is my top priority. It is extremely important that my patient/clients feel comfortable , supported and understood. I focus on establishing on establishing a safe, respectful, trustworthy, non-judge mental, warm and empathetic atmosphere.
