I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) working in private practice. I earned my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Long Island University. Following graduation, I started working at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where I obtained advanced certifications in Gender and Sexuality, Sex Therapy, and Couples Counseling. As my private practice grew and I looked to step away from working at the agency, the Sex Therapy division at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy asked me to stay on as a core faculty member where I remain to this day both teaching and supervising sex therapy candidates. As a sex and couples therapist with a private practice based in NYC, I work collaboratively with individuals and couples to create a tailored approach to treatment that aligns with their unique needs and goals. My approach is integrative, incorporating various therapeutic tools to explore behavioral and thought patterns, helping people cultivate a more authentic, present, and connected version of themselves. I guide clients in identifying and articulating what’s missing in their lives, creating tools for growth and understanding, and making meaningful connection and fulfillment more accessible. I work with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds, lifestyles, and relationship structures, including those in traditional and non-traditional partnerships. My practice is affirming and inclusive, particularly for LGBTQ+, polyamorous, and kinky individuals and relationships. Clients seek me out not only for my open-minded approach but also for my deep understanding of the complexities and challenges that can arise in these areas. My work focuses on enhancing emotional regulation, deepening trust, improving intimacy, and supporting sexual well-being. As a sex therapist, I help people explore and strengthen their connection to their sexuality, whether that involves concerns about libido, desire, orgasm, erectile unpredictability, asexuality, or navigating differing sexual needs within relationships. I support individuals in aligning their thoughts and behaviors with their values, fostering self-acceptance, and increasing pleasure and fulfillment in their lives. My therapeutic work is grounded in evidence-based methods, including attachment, relational, and developmental theories. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients can safely explore their emotions, relationships, and desires. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to facilitate a journey toward deeper self-awareness, personal growth, and a greater sense of connection and satisfaction in life. Outside of counseling, I find opportunities to develop my own sense of connection and partnership through ballroom and west coast swing dancing, as well as caring for my feline companions, Ghost Pepper and Luci-Fur. As a certified therapy dog volunteer with The Good Dog Foundation, I also devote my time to providing emotional support to the elderly with dementia and Alzheimer's with my dog, Java.
