MEET MARGIE MELDER, LMFT “Growth is painful, change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck where you do not belong.” – N.R. Narayana Murthy Thanks for visiting my site. Your struggles may have brought you to this website, but I believe that you are more than your "symptoms". We often find ourselves stuck grappling with our own struggles rather than using our inherent resilience and strengths to continue traveling in the direction that holds deeper meaning for us. My approach to therapy is summarized by a quote by Vivian Greene: "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it is about learning to dance in the rain." I see myself as a brief but reliable partner who is committed to revealing the strengths you already possess. We all can get lost, distracted and discouraged on our journeys. The good news is we already have answers within. If they are lost or hidden at times, I can help. I’ll listen carefully to your story and together we will re-discover what has always been there — your own personal cure! With 15+ years in both public and private mental health services, I hold a master’s degree in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Theological Studies with a concentration on Counseling. My goal is to help you to live your life more meaningfully while simultaneously learning to make greater space for difficult experiences. I rely on geeky scientific and therapeutic stuff like neuroscience and trauma, attachment theory and relationships, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help you, but I am really a spiritual seeker in love with humanity. Finding a therapist with whom you feel understood and accepted by is crucial to the healing process. My hope is to provide a space of exploration and collaboration where you can feel empowered, laugh, be vulnerable, and grow. My life experiences have taught me a lesson: that it's hard to be human and as such, my clients will always deserve all my empathy and attention. If you’re interested in meeting, please feel free to email me: margiemelderlmft@gmail.com. Or, you can reach me by phone at 717-727-0522. I look forward to hearing from you. Margie accepts Highmark BCBS, Optum and Aetna insurance. Self-pay options are available.
