Margaux Herrera (MSW) is a therapist with a passion for working with neurodivergent people. They switched careers to social work after seeing how underserved autistic adults were by the mental health field. Their goal is to make neurodivergent-affirming therapy as accessible as possible. Margaux earned their Master of Social Work from Florida State University. As part of their training, Margaux worked at UM’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UM-CARD) on their Adult & Transition team, providing direct support to autistic people and their families, and facilitating support groups. They also worked at the Mailman Center as part of the Progression Across Transition in Healthcare (PATH) clinic team as part of an interdisciplinary team providing care for adults with developmental disabilities. For several years, they also mentored autistic teens and college students with a focus on social skills, life skills, and academics. Margaux’s approach to therapy is collaborative, working together with clients to find unique solutions to their problems and to achieve their goals, whatever those may be. They welcome clients who are already diagnosed, and those who are exploring whether they might be neurodivergent. They're also probably wondering if you need to stim more.
