I specialize in working with high achievers and people struggling with excessive worry and perfectionism, or those who feel as though they are "never good enough". I like to work collaboratively, and enjoy supporting and guiding those who are on a journey to improve themselves in their personal and professional lives, including supporting client's intuitive knowledge of themselves. Over 25 years of experience and training in a variety of approaches to therapy allow me to match the therapy I provide to each client's needs. I help my clients manage reactions that often accompany life stressors and can become overwhelming. I have expertise working with those navigating between cultures and with women's issues and I value all types of diversity. In therapy, I emphasize creating a safe emotional space. I am transparent, and maintain a balance between empathic listening and active feedback. I have had extensive training in psychology, starting with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Stanford University, a Master's and a Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University, and an internship from The University of Texas at Austin. I have worked at a community mental health clinic, an anxiety treatment center and at The University of Texas at Austin Counseling and Mental Health Center. I have been in private practice in Austin since 2007. I work with adults from 18-65 years in individual therapy. My approach to therapy is client centered and relational, I believe in my clients' capacity to become their best selves and I feel honored to be a part of their journey.
