Marcy is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who has been providing care to youth, individuals, and families for over 15 years. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish. After finding her passion practicing as a social worker for many years, she earned a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2019. Marcy enjoys working with patients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation or history of suicide attempts, and victims of trauma. She practices with a wraparound approach, involving parents, stoke-holders, community partners, and medication providers. Marcy uses a variety of interventions with her patients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Marcy believes that each client should be equipped to leave therapy sessions with tools at their disposal to help them cope with their environmental stressors.
