Psychotherapist Marcus Leaks, LCSW
Specialties: Trauma, Anxiety, Perfectionism, HIV/AIDS, Racial Identity,

Introduction

I am a licensed clinical social worker in private practice. Throughout my career, I have worked in schools, residential programs, non-profits, and medical clinics. Most of my professional experience has been within the LGBTQ+ community. I worked as a behavioral health consultant at Howard Brown Health in Chicago, and worked as a staff therapist and clinical supervisor for graduate student interns at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York City. In addition to the queer and trans community, I am committed to providing psychotherapy for folks that identify as Black, Brown, Indigenous, and POC. My practice utilizes relational, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic techniques to explore how your concerns have developed and help you build skills to interrupt the cycles that detract from your quality of life. I integrate a psychodynamic lens to unpack both present day issues and their underlying causes which can often be found in early life experiences. My style is a blend of my professional training, educational background, and my own experiences as a therapy patient. I do my best to provide a non-judgmental, warm, and collaborative environment so that we can talk honestly to address your needs. I am licensed in NY and IL – providing virtual sessions for NY based clients and both in-person/virtual sessions for Chicago-area clients. Contact me today to discuss how we can work together.
