For as long as I can remember, I have had a desire to help others work through the difficulties in their lives. In recent years, I have been introduced to fulfilling that desire through the work of counseling. It is a deep joy and honor to be able to be able to hold space with those who are hurting. Whether it is grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, or some other form of pain and suffering, I count it a privilege and a joy to walk alongside others and equip them with tools to help them begin the process of healing. Life is not easy. At some point in time, we all will be among the thorns of this world. Counseling can be a great asset in navigating these hard times. I recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University and have obtained my LPC license from the state of Texas. I received my BA in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. As a follower of Christ, it is my joy to be Christ-centered in my therapeutic approach while also utilizing the common grace of psychological therapies that have been proven effective. I take a holistic approach to therapy that operates with the understanding that we are both body and soul. Healing comes from taking steps to address the whole of ourselves rather than certain parts. I have been fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, which can be a wonderful way with dealing with past hurts and pains that are affecting you in the present. I also utilize other therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as borrowing from a variety of other therapy models. I have been married to my husband for 15 years and we have 4 children. When I am not counseling, you can find me reading, running, rowing, and spending time with friends and family. Our family has a love for hiking, traveling, and exploring new places.
