~BACKGROUND~ I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University in 2021 and am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana. Although I began my journey in nursing, I eventually discovered my true passion in the field of social work. My professional experience spans a variety of settings, including mental health, recovery, and public safety (where I currently work full-time!) ~ SERVICE PASSIONS & CLINICAL APPROACH~ I am passionate in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and the challenges of creating a balanced life. Whether you're feeling weighed down by stress, working through past experiences, or striving to find more balance in your work, school, or relationships, my clinical approach is compassionate and collaborative. With four years (and counting) of experience as a mental health professional in a law enforcement agency, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with first responders and learning the unique challenges faced. I am dedicated to providing support tailored to the realities of this field. As a law enforcement spouse, this work is personal, giving me a deeper look into the impact the profession can have not only on the first responder, but also on their families. I’m committed to creating a space where first responders and their loved ones can feel seen, understood, and supported. While I often integrate multiple therapeutic methods into each session, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I work with you to identify the modality most suitable for your treatment goals. ~EDUCATION & TRAINING~ Whether you are part of the general public or a public safety agency, training is tailored to the organization's need to provide essential knowledge, practical skills, and strategies for managing mental health/crisis intervention. For the general public, I focus on recognizing signs of mental health challenges and knowing how to respond with compassion and care. For first responders, I offer specialized training to further expand on officers' training to include tools for supporting the communities they serve. ~ABOUT ME~ I live locally with my husband and our three [fur] children, two dogs and a [very large] cat! You can usually find me outdoors (hiking, camping, or golfing) or in the gym with my gym buddies! ~ WHY 'TOWARDS'~ 'Towards' is a concept adopted by my husband from an elder golfer who suggested that as long as you are hitting the ball towards the pin, no matter the shortcomings and mishits, "the 'towards' is there." Even imperfect steps lead you to the desired destination-- Just keep going towards it.
