Dr. Sears is a licensed clinical psychologist in NY and NJ providing high-quality evidenced based treatment, specializing in eating disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, body image, anxiety, and depression. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a health emphasis from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center, and her two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Mount Sinai Eating and Weight Disorders Program, Icahn School of Medicine. She also received clinical training at New York-Presbyterian Westchester and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Sears's health psychology background formed the basis for her multidimensional approach to treatment. She is trained in dialectical behavior therapy, family-based treatment for eating disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders, depression and anxiety disorders. Her clinical work focuses on assessment and treatment for avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID/extreme picky eating), anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other specified feeding and eating disorders, as well as anxiety and depression. Dr. Sears utilizes evidence-based approaches and synthesizes research as a guide to effective treatment, using collaborative, empathetic, and supportive means. Her goal is to provide individuals and families with concrete skills to increase self-efficacy and empowerment to confidently navigate life challenges. Dr. Sears sees clients in person at her office in Nyack, New York, as well as virtually via telehealth for clients located in NY, NJ, and PSYPACT participating states (AL, AR, AZ, CNMI, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NV, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV, and WY).
