One of the most profound determinants of how we experience our lives is how we feel about ourselves–our sense of worthiness. We live with ourselves day in and day out—and the story (our narrative) we tell ourselves is reinforced for better, or for worse. The health of our relationship, the one with ourselves, often dictates the health of our relationship with others. We all have the innate capacity to grow and change, to be resilient in the face of challenges, and to be empowered to change patterns of behavior and relationship that no longer serve us. I work to meet people where they are and to create a safe and supportive environment in therapy that allows for exploration and growth. The process of therapy is guided by your unique needs and can be adjusted accordingly. In our collaborative working relationship, together we’ll explore what’s on your mind, the underlying emotions and patterns that relate to your specific context, and identify obstacles, strengths, and ways of coping. Psychotherapy is a process that allows people to tap into their innate potential for growth by being in relationship with another person and putting words to their internal thoughts and feelings. The process offers a unique opportunity to work through your internal and external obstacles and gain clarity on what matters to you. My methods for treatment are eclectic and depend on what works best for the individual I am working with. I gravitate towards humanistic, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches.
