Introduction

I’m Madi, a therapist and clinicial social worker. As a therapist, I don’t think therapy should be too stiff. We will build a therapeutic relationship by getting to know each other and building trust. I will be direct, compassionate, and challenge you (gently). I’m a regular person. You may hear me use a cuss word or a few or a lot. I will laugh at your jokes and I would love to meet your pets! Since I provide online therapy, that’s actually possible. I will show you how to be vulnerable and authentic by being that way myself. I will give you direct feedback. You can say whatever you want and I will listen. I won’t judge you. I work from a perspective of social justice, intersectionality and anti-racism. I acknowledge the impact of white supremacist culture, historical trauma, intergenerational trauma and racial trauma on mental, physical, and emotional health. I strive to continually develop, deepen and expand my knowledge, understanding, awareness, and skills surrounding racial and ethnocultural influences across the lifespan outside of the therapy space in order to provide a safe, healing, inclusive and supportive space for all of my clients in therapy. I am dedicated to expanding my awareness of my own positionality in relation to ethnicity and race and to continually question, understand, and oppose racism. I view each client as a unique person embedded in their community, family, and environment. I am curious about your individual experience and will focus on your responses, thoughts, emotions, sensations, beliefs surrounding your experiences in our work together. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and lived experiences, and show up with genuine curiosity, authenticity and transparency. My clients have been consistently satisfied with the changes that they notice. Many have noticed a complete resolution of all symptoms. EMDR can work faster than other therapies. The changes are not only sustainable over time, but you can experience steady & continued growth and strength.
