Mackenzie is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the state of Iowa with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work from the University of Iowa. She has extensive experience providing therapy in diverse settings, including residential and outpatient care, providing community outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness, in addition to working with veterans at the VA. Mackenzie offers individual therapy to adults to help them achieve their goals through improving quality of life, relationships, and emotional health. She takes an individualized approach to each client, incorporating a variety of therapeutic techniques to best suit their unique needs and personalities. With a focus on creating a safe, compassionate, and open-minded space, Mackenzie assists clients in navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship issues, communication struggles, and life transitions. Drawing from her training in multiple evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing and Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MI/MET), she works collaboratively with clients to set meaningful goals, develop effective coping strategies, and foster lasting change.
