Welcome to Thrive Psychotherapy, the private practice of Lynne Byrne, EdM, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut and Maine and hold dual master’s degrees in Psychological Counseling and Mental Health Psychology from Teacher College, Columbia University in New York City. As your therapist I am committed to creating a collaborative partnership based on compassion, trust and mutual respect and delivering evidenced based psychotherapy that helps you reach your goals. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is a well-researched and results-driven approach to help you overcome your anxiety, depression, relationship problems, habits and more. I also believe deeply in the mental health benefits of exercise, nutrition, mindfulness meditation, journaling and seeking out sources of passion and joy in one’s life. I have experience in individual, group and teletherapy settings working with clients aged 18 years and older seeking support for anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, OCD, disordered eating, IBS, chronic pain, grief, relationship/family conflict, workplace issues, phobias, LGBTQIA+ issues, substance use, habits, procrastination, body-focused repetitive behaviors, self-esteem issues and more. I am also trained in multicultural counseling which understands how our experiences are shaped by our unique identities (race, culture, ethnicity, SES, family structure, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.). Courage involves vulnerability and I applaud you for taking this first step on the path towards thriving. It would be my privilege to move forward together with you in this work.
