I am a pastoral counselor that is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) and under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor and mental health services provider (LPC-MHSP) who is also a LADAC. I have a wide range of experience working with individuals who have struggled with some form of addiction along with co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have spent the past couple of years working in a residential treatment facility for addiction and recovery. I have specifically worked with women from various age groups and their loved ones as they came together to restore their broken lives brought on by the destructive nature of addiction and mental health struggles. I am also equipped to work with teens who struggle with anxiety, behavioral issues, or family conflicts; couples in crisis, considering divorce, pre-marital counseling, or just needing to get in a healthier place together; women who struggle with anxiety, depression, or going through a hard transition in life; and any other type of counseling situation where one needs to strengthen their relationship with the Lord to better themself and arrive at a healthier place in life. I have always had a desire to be a people helper. It was my goal when I started my college endeavors to arrive at a career that would allow me the opportunity to pour into others in a positive manner. After I obtained my bachelor’s degree at Middle Tennessee State University, I went on to pursue my master’s degree in pastoral counseling at Liberty University because I felt called to walk with the hurting and broken from a faith-based approach. I completed my internship at my church with the pastoral care team. It was there I gained significant experience walking alongside those within the church who struggled with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, family related conflicts, substance use and addiction related issues, and a feeling of spiritual disconnection. Once I completed my internship I stepped into the world of addiction and recovery bringing a faith-based approach to healing, restoration, and recovery. Over the past 20 years I have been on a special journey to reach my greatest potential which has precisely led me to where I am today. This journey has led me down paths for which I was able to find grace, heartbreak, trauma, mercy, hope, peace, love, tears, brokenness, and wholeness. I always believed that this path I had been walking, as dark and hard as it was at times sought to prepare me for the greater work for which the Holy Spirit was calling me. There were days the struggles I faced were very hard, but I learned that I could do all things through Christ who gave me strength (Philippians 4:13). Even though being in valleys and the desert places were quite miserable, I became very connected to the Lord and can honestly say I would not change a thing about my life as my experiences have brought me to a place where I am able to meet my clients with compassion and empathy. In my personal life, I am a wife and a mother to four amazing children that are ages 21, twins that are 18, and 7. Things are swiftly changing in my life as my older children have begun to spread their wings and fly. My husband and I are entering yet another new season where we are able to focus more on our personal and spiritual growth. We are looking forward to our journey ahead and celebrating all the blessings we found along the path we have already walked. Though we have lived through hard and difficult seasons, we feel we are blessed beyond measure because we serve a good God. It is my great pleasure to walk alongside you through your struggles. I look forward to working with you and watch you gain and utilize the tools you need to overcome whatever obstacles you face in life. I will celebrate with you the days where restoration, redemption, recovery, and healing become your story. We are in this together! I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you (Psalms 32:8)
