Lydia’s journey began with the pressure to be perfect—the ideal daughter, student, and sister. Raised in a culture where emotions were rarely expressed, she learned to hide her struggles behind a calm exterior. Over time, this became exhausting. As Lydia found the courage to embrace authenticity and voice her emotions, she began a journey of healing and purpose. Originally from Beijing, Lydia holds a master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience and later earned a counseling degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. She now integrates evidence-based approaches like EMDR and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with spiritually and culturally informed care, helping clients explore identity, family dynamics, trauma, and life transitions. Her background in science, theology, and culture uniquely equips her to support individuals from diverse backgrounds. Lydia lives in Dallas with her husband and their three energetic boys. She enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and meaningful conversations over tea. She believes healing begins when we stop striving and start showing up as we are. Lydia also supervises Bethany Huang, a compassionate student intern currently completing her counseling training. Together, they create a safe, supportive space for growth and transformation.
