Lorna Lopez, M.Ed, LAC, NCC believes the most powerful aspect of counseling is the trust between client and counselor and prides herself on being able to build that therapeutic relationship with her clients. Lorna approaches counseling as a collaboration between client and counselor, working together with the client to help them discover how best to address their difficulties. She specializes in working with depression, anxiety, school issues, stress management, estranged relationships, and more for both children, teens and adults. Throughout the counseling process, she helps clients of all ages build resiliency and confidence. Lorna approaches every client from a person-centered perspective, meeting them wherever they may be on their healing journey and walking with them as they progress at their own pace. Lorna loves to help clients unravel the source of their presenting issue(s) through a psychodynamic lens of their childhood experiences and family dynamics while also considering multicultural and environmental factors. Lorna uses mainly evidence-based interventions from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy as well as creative arts counseling techniques. Nevertheless, Lorna’s intervention use is eclectic, utilizing interventions based on her client’s needs.
