Introduction

Are you feeling stuck and unhappy? Depressed? Anxious? Are you lying awake at night wishing you could shut your mind off? Do you have unresolved issues from the past? Has anyone ever told you that you have an anger problem? Would you like the rest of your life to be different? Hi. My name is Liz Whitehead. My long career as a registered nurse led me to focus on the emotional health as well as the physical health of individuals. I received my Masters degree from Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2006 and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My focus includes the treatment of anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions, spiritual/existential issues, personality and mood disorders, such as Bipolar or Depression. I have experience working with teens, adults, couples, and families. As an integrative counselor, I utilize various clinical methods, based on the client's needs. I know it can be difficult to share private, painful feelings. I offer a safe, non-judgmental place where you can feel heard, understood, and valued. Through the work we do together, you can develop effective coping skills, identify and change unhealthy patterns, strengthen relationships, and learn to tolerate stress better.
