Growing up as a first-generation Cuban-American, I witnessed the impact of our attempts at acculturation on my family’s mental and emotional health. We had to adapt to the unique challenges that come with living within a cultural norm that wasn’t our own. Sadly, this also led to my own mental health struggles in early adulthood. Counseling saved my life. After my first experience with counseling, I found renewed hope and meaning for life and decided I’d pay all the benefits I had received forward. My passion is to help others find what they need. I want to help others discover the opportunity, the light in the darkness, the balance, the safe place. I want to help folxs to find their, “I am okay.” I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment free environment to explore and move through feeling stuck. Using evidence-based strategies and a multicultural / social justice lens, I strive to connect my clients to solutions and insights that can lead to real change. I walk alongside my clients to achieve greater understanding of themselves and their values. To live a life of meaning and wellbeing while honoring the self. I generally work well with adults looking to find their identity, overcome thoughts / feelings that make them feel stuck, find joy and satisfaction in their relationships and themselves. I love providing support for the LGBTQ+ community, self identified geeks, Spanish speakers, and marginalized folks from all walks of life. I also love providing support for folxs who live in nontraditional family structures and may engage in consensual non-monogamy, and kink/alternative lifestyles.
