I have been a nurse for over ten years with experience in many different areas of healthcare. I first started my nursing journey as a student nurse at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, specializing in neurotrauma. Over the years, I have worked in various roles including hospice, home care, care coordination, and quality which expanded my nursing skills and patient care approach. My professional and personal experiences with mental health care led me to pursue higher education to expand my ability to support the community during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am a board-certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner with a Masters of Science in Nursing Degree. My approach to caring for mental health begins with identifying your unique needs and treatment plan which can include medication management, therapy recommendations, and holistic treatment. I started Speakeasy as an independent practice to allow myself to care for patients in a way that is free from the requirements of a hospital system or large practices. The name of my practice, Speakeasy, comes from the inspiration of being able to express oneself without fear of judgment and privately in the way that the speakeasy bars once provided a private place of indulgence where it was publicly seen as taboo to do so. Patients can come to Speakeasy from the comfort of their homes, avoiding barriers of traffic, parking, and scheduling to access the care they need for their mental health and well-being. Practice policies are made available when your appointment is confirmed. Appointments accepted via self-scheduling or you can send a message to request alternative arrangements.
