Lisa Parani holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Lisa is a native Floridian who has lived in Orlando throughout her life. She began her career with a passion for understanding Infant and Maternal Mental Health in 2005 which led to a career within the Child Welfare and Dependency Court System. She transitioned into the role of therapist in an Outpatient setting after having her first child in 2009. She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2007, whose core values are rooted strongly in social justice, the dignity and worth of all people, the importance of relationships, personal and professional integrity and competence. Lisa has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families in all capacities included, but not limited to trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. She enjoys working with teenagers, whom are often difficult to reach, adults struggling emotionally and couples who want to work towards strengthening their connection or the completion of their relationship. The basis of Lisa’s practice rests upon developing a strong therapeutic alliance with each client and understands that without the right foundation, it is difficult to help people grow. She believes the therapeutic process is determined collaboratively and is able to help clients understand how thoughts affect feelings which in turn affect behaviors, (cognitive behavioral therapy). “If you are struggling with feelings of unhappiness, discontent, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty communicating with your partner, family or friends, or would like to work through a problem with the help of someone who is passionate about making a difference in your life, then please reach out”.
