Introduction

I am an experienced professional who works with adults and adolescents. I offer three different types of services at Forest Through the Trees: THERAPY I provide counseling for addiction and I help address the underlying issues. Addiction is a solution that has become its own problem. I also work with folks who have chronic pain issues that might be presenting themselves somatically. My approach is very individualized and compassionate. I want to make sure that I am the right person for you in our initial consult meeting. The right fit is important because therapy can be hard, and I want you to feel comfortable talking to me. We will check in periodically to see how it is going and change course, if needed. I am always open to discussing sliding scale fees for therapy. INTERVENTION I have been facilitating family systems interventions for 19 years. The first step is to call me for a consultation to see if you actually need one. Sometimes there are other alternatives. The consultation can be with an individual, and/or an individual with other family members following. There is no time limit on the consultation. If it looks like the path is to move forward, I will meet with everyone and figure out the best strategy, and get you ready for the event. We will meet until everyone is ready to do it, and we are all feeling confident and safe. I help families find a treatment program, help them navigate their insurance, secure a placement, and help with logistics. I am there every step of the way, and provide follow up, and give referrals to family members if they need it, whether their loved one goes to treatment or not. I really appreciate success stories, and I have a high success rate of intervention to treatment. CONSULTATION I will consult with clients, parents and professionals to give resources. It may be for a therapist, psychiatrist, case management services, educational consultant, transport services, or a treatment program. I can help you with a hand off to a resource. I will also help you navigate your healthcare insurance for these services. ABOUT ME I have been in the world of mental health and addiction treatment for over 27 years. I have done everything from case management to primary therapy, healthcare compliance, insurance contracting and utilization review. I have been on admissions teams, provided comprehensive psychological assessments, pain evaluations for workers comp, developed and have ran adult and adolescent outpatient programs. I have also had my hand in strategic planning and development for healthcare organizations. My passion is to help people feel better and get their lives back, as well as make sure they are getting what they need at the right time. If you have another provider, a psychiatrist or treatment center, I am very happy to collaborate with them during your care with me, and involve them as needed. I am a nature and a dog lover, and music is also a passion of mine. I have two cardigan welsh corgis (Maddox and Mr. Flickers.) I love traveling, baking, walking everywhere and exploring. I live in Nevada City CA, and am providing tele-health only currently to anyone who lives in California. I will be expanding to live sessions in 2025.
