I believe that the human experience is rich with both challenges and triumphs, and I approach therapy with the understanding that each individual’s journey is unique. My aim is to serve as a supportive companion while helping you navigate life’s complexities. With over 10 years of experience as a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, OCD, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, and trauma. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. I have deep empathy and respect for individuals navigating their eating disorder recoveries and am passionate about helping individuals heal from the societal pressures that contribute to unhealthy relationships with food and body image. Therapeutic Approach My approach to therapy is grounded in a person-centered, compassionate philosophy that recognizes the inherent value of every individual. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. I prioritize building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, knowing that when individuals feel truly heard and understood, they are empowered to make meaningful changes. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to tailor the treatment to each individual. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is particularly effective in addressing the distorted thinking patterns often present in eating disorders; Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), which focuses on improving relationships and communication; and other approaches such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Professional Background In addition to my work as a therapist, I am deeply committed to teaching and mentoring the next generation of counselors. I hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and teach graduate-level courses in counseling programs. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision to both graduate students and newly licensed professionals. This work allows me to stay engaged with current trends in the field while also supporting others in their professional growth. I provide individual therapy to adults aged 18 and older, and I am dedicated to fostering a space where individuals can not only heal but thrive.
