Finding joy in life involves learning to know and love yourself. It is an approach of revealing our CORE truths, discovering our gifts, and incoporating areas in which we thrive into our life. It is an apporch of looking at wellness from all areas of life. Who am I at my core? What do I believe is true about me? As we start to uncover familiar patterns, ways of thinking, behaving, intentions, and the circumstances of our being, we get to know ourselves better. We unravel how to become "unstuck" and discover our peaceful CORE. Lisa provides a safe and nurturing space to unravel life's challenges, the opportunities available to you, and the gifts that make you – you! Finding your CORE. Lisa approaches counseling holistically, an inner-CORE discovery process, including all areas of wellness – emotional, social, physical, environmental, intellectual, and spiritual. Lisa utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities to aid in reaching your goals: • CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapy • EMDR: Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing • DBT: Dialectic behavioral therapy • IFS: Internal Family systems, parts work • Solutions-Focused • Yoga and mindfulness techniques (200hr RYT) • Certified Wellness Coach, Wellcoaches Lisa works with adults and adolescents. Her specialty areas include: • Anxiety • Trauma • Depression • Life adjustments and transitions • Disordered eating and food concerns • Career transitions / Workplace challenges* • Grief Lisa holds two master’s degrees: Mental Health Counseling, Liberty University and Business and Public Relations, University of Iowa. Her bachelor’s degree is in Nutrition, from the University of Northern Iowa. *Lisa has many years of professional experience in program management, employee development, and corporate training. She is working towards her PhD in industrial and organizational psychology. Lisa enjoys outdoor activities in her free time, including biking, golfing, hiking, running, and doggie- walking. She also enjoys home decorating and remodeling projects. Lisa is a certified Health and Wellness Coach through WellCoaches® and a 200-hour certified yoga instructor through YogaFit®.
