Introduction

Hello! My name is Lisa Hanes and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in the state of California. My experience as a therapist and previous careers as a registered nurse and certified nurse midwife have provided me the unique perspective and understanding of the needs of the whole Individual, and the interconnectedness of the emotions of the mind and the physical experiences of the body. As a therapist, I recognize the importance of sharing, exploring and working through challenges and I provide a comfortable, safe and unbiased environment that is safe and free of judgment. I am experienced and passionate about working with individuals and couples faced with relationship conflict and communication difficulties as well as with challenges related to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and adjustment, perinatal anxiety and depression and the transition to becoming a parent. My additional education and training includes certificates from Postpartum Support International, Maternal Mental Health Now in Maternal Mental Health Training and Gottman Institute as a Bringing Baby Home Educator. I utilize several theoretical approaches, including client-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment-based, solution-focused and narrative that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
