EMDR is a type of therapy that reprocesses traumatic events or memories. Research shows that trauma is stored in the body. When someone is triggered, they experience a trauma response like shutting down, getting angry, or avoiding the situation. Using an 8-step process, EMDR helps reprocess those memories. Through EMDR, many people find healing and resolve painful emotions and experiences. EMDR has been highly researched and is a proven effective therapy for Feelings of Worry, Anxiety, Depression, Low Self Esteem, Shame, Guilt, Inadequacy, Not Measuring Up, Grief and Loss, Self-Limiting Behaviors, Hopelessness and Helplessness, Panic, Addictions, PTSD and more. In her private practice, Lisa works with individuals (16+). Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Lisa has a master's degree in marriage and family counseling from Lamar University.
