During my journey to become a therapist, I noticed that the narratives created out of my life experiences, shape the way I see myself, understand people and relationships, and make decisions about my life. This experience guides my curiosity about what my clients say about the life problems that bring them to therapy. My therapeutic practice is rooted in this foundation, that I wish to know my clients for who they are and how their life journey has led them here. When coming to my office, you will certainly be invited to share your life stories, and I will be your editor then. I would like to help people explore and notice their internal processes and the way they engage their loved ones and communities meaningfully. I help clients integrate them into their current life narratives, or in another word, 're-story' their life experiences. I firmly believe that when we change the way we see ourselves, other people and the world, we can choose to live our life differently and meaningfully. In terms of my specialties, I am passionate about supporting cancer patients and their family members. In their journey with cancer, I often work with them in coping with stress, processing the meaning of their experience, building resilience and engaging communities, and working towards a new normal for their life together. With couples, I focus on increasing mutual understanding, restoring emotional connection, and resolving conflicts and non-working relationship patterns. My work with couples is guided by Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy and Narrative Therapy, but not limited to. I enjoy counseling young children utilizing playful approaches to nurture their self-esteem and relationships. I help parents identify their parenting philosophy and apply them into daily interactions with children.
