With a Masters in Social Work and more than 15 years of experience working with children, youth, and adults in both residential treatment facilities and schools, I have seen first-hand the transformative power of counseling. The counseling office is a sacred and protected space that can serve as a respite as we seek to tackle life’s many challenges and restore balance. Many therapeutic practices and approaches can be helpful for healing, and I regularly mix the Family Systems Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with creative techniques drawn from Expressive Art Therapy or Sand Tray Therapy which can allow for the needed distance to gain perspective when words fall short. I believe my primary role in counseling individuals is to hold a safe space, giving permission to reflect, heal, and transform. It is my privilege to come alongside you in this journey.
