Philosophy and Approach I believe that each client is unique and brings with them experiences, strengths, and resources that are invaluable for growth and change. My approach to counseling is that all individuals are deserving of respect, compassion, acceptance, and understanding. I sincerely enjoy working with people and feel honored when an individual trusts me to share their journey and challenges. Formal Education and Training I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Primate Behavior and Ecology through Central Washington University. I hold a Master’s of Science in Primate Conservation from Oxford Brookes University. I also have a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Southwest. Applicable coursework includes; Human Growth and Development, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Personality Theory, Sand Tray Therapy, Suicidality and Crisis Intervention, Crisis and Trauma Counseling Intervention, and Foundations and Ethics. My Clients My treatment approach is rooted in my relationship with each individual and is collaborative. I utilize different approaches and techniques depending on my client's needs with the aim of healing and growth therefore enabling client's to move towards what is meaningful and important to them. My extensive educational background and life experiences with both youth and adults provides me with a strong foundation and passion to work with this population. Therapeutic approaches include person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused brief therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and psychoeducation.
