Introduction

As human beings we often make sense of the world and our lived experience through creating stories. It's these narratives, some inherited, others created, that help shape our lives. However, sometimes these scripts can be outdated, making it challenging to move forward. Many of the people who come through my practice share the same experience of feeling stuck in patterns or what I have come to refer to as, “old tapes.” Together, we will receive the many parts of yourself that you bring into the room, leaning especially into those that yearn to be seen, such as those parts of us that carry shame, grief and painful burdens. My work is guided by my belief in the healing power of laughter. I welcome joy, humor, curiosity, and happiness in the same ways I welcome sadness, anger, frustration, and disappointment. My style of practicing is warm, attuned, curious, inquisitive, and genuine. I typically operate with an eclectic orientation, weaving in a multitude of approaches with the client, you, centered in our work as a guide. My psychotherapeutic frame is deeply grounded in an attachment theory and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I believe that the ways we come to make sense of ourselves as well as the world around us are informed by the experiences which preceded. I have received teaching and specialized training in multiple therapeutic orientations including Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Circle of Security Parenting, and most recently, Internal Family Systems (IFS level I). In addition, I have completed a yoga teacher training. Although I see folks with a variety of presenting concerns, I have a keen and personal interest in working with adoptees. It is a courageous step to ask for help. It is a kind act to allow yourself to intentionally reflect and to make space for shifts.Taking the time to find a psychotherapist that best fits your unique needs is incredibly important. To learn more and to see if we could be a good match for doing this work together, please email me to schedule a 15 minute consultation call.
