Lexi Cooper completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology) at the University of Georgia. She then obtained her Master’s Degree at UGA where she received her Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, Lexi has completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.-SLP) from Nova Southeastern University. Lexi has worked with clients across the lifespan, but mainly specializes in working with individuals ranging in age from eight years old to thirty years old. She works with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD, as well as provides tools for those coping with life changes and challenges. Lexi applies her knowledge to assist clients, and their loved ones, to cope with various communication disorders. Additionally, Lexi has had the opportunity to provide mental health therapy to the UGA athletes through the UGA Athletic Association’s Mental Health and Performance Clinic. As a clinician, Lexi creates a therapeutic space that emphasizes unconditional acceptance and respect. By working from a person-centered approach and being committed to supporting and guiding her clients in the most meaningful and effective way based on their individual needs, Lexi applies various modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based techniques and a strengths-based perspective in order to increase and support each client’s autonomy, healing, and growth. Lexi is ready to help you or your child reach a healthier and happier place with her compassionate approach. By providing “tools” to facilitate and promote carryover of change into their every-day life, Lexi focuses on supporting each client, and/or family system, in their journey to learn new perspectives and skills and is committed to helping clients cope with their specific life challenges in order to improve their lives in ways that are meaningful and fulfilling to them.
