Introduction

Dr. Chaundy is a Pennsylvania Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as well as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who holds a Diplomate in School Neuropsychology. She has over thirty years of experience working in the mental health field with children, adolescents, families, and adults of all ages and has worked in a variety of settings such as agencies, hospitals, and schools. Dr. Chaundy also worked as an Assistant Professor at Kutztown University and taught in the Department of Social Work at the undergraduate and graduate level and worked as a field liaison. Dr. Chaundy taught classes on working with individuals, groups, human behavior in the social environment, case-management, seminar, short-term treatment modalities, maltreatment in the family, crisis intervention, and spirituality and religion in social work. She will also be teaching assessment in school social work. Dr. Chaundy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in English, from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, Masters of Social Work degree from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Educational Specialist and Doctoral degree in School Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Chaundy also has additional training in family therapy from the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center, as well as additional training in cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and biblical counseling. Dr. Chaundy has presented at several local, national, and international conferences in Pennsylvania, New Orleans, California, and Spain, and has been a guest speaker on Berks TV “Talking Mental Health,” WDIY radio show “Take Charge of Your Life,” and at Penn State University and Cedar Crest College. Her doctoral dissertation topic “Religious Beliefs, Emotional Attachment, and Behavioral Commitment: It’s Relationship with the Self-Regulation of Adolescents” was published into a book by Scholar’s Press in 2014. Dr. Chaundy is a member of the American Psychological Association, National Association of Social Workers, National Association of School Psychologists, American Board of School Neuropsychologists, and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Dr. Chaundy enjoys assisting others achieve their own personal and professional life goals and believes in the power of dreams, visions, and planning to help attain them. She loves hearing other’s stories of hope and inspiration and has seen the power of faith, healing, and forgiveness. She believes in making something sweet out of life when it hands you lemons and whole-heartly believes in mind over matter. She is hopeful about transforming the hearts, minds, and souls of others in order to help guide them toward the path of growth and healing on their life journey. Her goal is to be a light for others and to help them understand that the mind really does matter. Overall, Dr. Chaundy’s gentle style and strength-based perspective helps her easily build a rapport with others which leads to positive and productive changes in their lives. Dr. Chaundy also has a true passion for psychological and educational assessment. She enjoys completing comprehensive evaluations to get people the help that they need in school or within the community. Although Dr. Chaundy does not do as much direct client care because of managing the practices, but she enjoys teaching and supervising others. She is very dedicated and committed to the growth of the practice and the peace of mind, body, and spirit of her counselors, their clients, and the community. Dr. Chaundy’s interests outside of work include spending time with her family and friends, traveling, watching movies, reading, and writing. She would like to find more time to go on mission trips. She lives at home with her husband, two daughters, and their two dogs Ruby & Ruger (aka Roogie Pie). Mind Matters Coaching, Counseling & Psychological Associates, LLC of Reading and Allentown (formally Thriveworks-Reading/Allentown from 2016-2020), was founded in 2021 by Dr. Chaundy. It was Dr. Chaundy’s life-long dream to one day open her own private practice in order to help those that were hurting. After a long journey, her vision finally became a reality. Dr. Chaundy’s story began after experiencing the loss of her father at a very young age due to cancer. She had the opportunity to be helped by a hospice worker and it was from about that time that she decided that she wanted to help others as well
