She earned her Bachelor's of Science (Psychology) at Tennessee State University, Master's of Education (School Counseling) at Freed-Hardeman University, and Graduate Certificate of Professional Counseling at Freed-Hardeman University. She also completed coursework at Dillard University and University of Memphis. She is both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Professional School Counselor. As a native Memphian, Counselor Causey believes every person has a special purpose and her goal is to help each individual work towards that purpose with resilience and optimism. She has worked in various settings, including alternative schools (grades kindergarten through twelfth grades), not-for-profit clinical settings, behavioral health systems, and private practice. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work, including The Alternative Programs Spirit Award (2007), Alternative Programs Parent Support Group Recognition (2006), Tennessee Department of Education Tennessee Trailblazer (2010), and Teacher Effectiveness Measure Level 5 (2011+). Counselor Causey specializes in providing unique counseling experiences for individuals with hands-on activities, authenticity, role playing, therapeutic play, technology, and literature integration. Our Services Restoration offers an array of psychotherapy and consultation services toward the benefit of individuals, students, families, couples, and educational support systems. Our therapy services help facilitate and empower our clients to fulfill purpose and work toward goals that authentically fulfill their lives. Individual Counseling Individual counseling is one on one therapy arranged to support the client in various topics or concerns. Our specialty includes: trauma, relationship problems, stress, anxiety, depression, life balance, life adjustment, grief and bereavement, career planning, educational planning, educational/learning challenges (for children, and adolescents), and other major life topics. We specialize in working with ages 4 and up. Small Group Counseling Small group counseling is a group of less than ten (10) clients to discuss major topics challenging various groups. Several groups targeted by Restoration counselors have included young adolescent men, young ladies, and women. Contact the office for our group schedule. Family Counseling Family counseling is usually in conjunction with individual counseling. Family integrative counseling therapy is known to be very influential in support for an individual's needs and development. By working as a family, the client and the family as a whole can solidify change that can last for generations. This can also help familial interactions and deepen family connections. Couples/Marriage Counseling Counselor Causey is a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator. The Prepare/Enrich Program is an evidence-based program designed for couples desiring to marry and married couples looking to strengthen their marital bond. It includes an assessment tool and exercises built around the major areas of relationships, including communication, conflict resolution, finances, and spiritual beliefs. Research has shown that taking the Prepare/Enrich assessment before marriage has reduced the risk for divorce by 30%. https://www.prepare-enrich.com/ Consultation Our consultation services are built around educational and behavioral support systems. Educational consultation is for students in grades kindergarten through twelve who are in need of additional advocacy or support in getting students what they need. Counselor Causey collaborates with families and school support systems to understand the student needs and goals, and recommend tailored programs and coursework. She serves as a student advocate and supports in individualized educational plans, 504 plans, and behavior or safety plans. She also supports educational systems in providing high quality plans that are student-centered, relevant, effective, and doable in a modern day educational setting.
