In 2003, I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned a Masters Degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, with specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling and Deafness. I have worked as a mental health clinician at University of California San Francisco (USCF), supporting parents with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This work brought me into the school system, where I provided mental health assessments and therapy at school sites throughout the Bay Area. For the past 25 years, I have been working with families and children, supporting them through major life transitions. This work has included foster care, public adoptions, independent adoptions, family advocacy, and individual mental health support. This journey has brought me incredible compassion for those who faced difficult interpersonal relationships. I have learned through my work the power of having someone hold a supportive caring space, allowing each person to follow their own path. For people considering adoption, in the process of adopting, or parenting adopted children, I can provide expertise, education, information, and support as you go through this life journey. In my professional experience, I have found that, all too often, people have remained "stuck" in loneliness, difficult parenting challenges, relationship issues, and have fallen victim to the belief that this is as good as it gets. For many, these struggles have been ongoing for years, if not a lifetime. Assisting people to meaningfully engage in life is not only my passion, it is the reason I have chosen this work. Everybody's situation is unique as to how you have arrived to where you are. My goal is to offer a personalized approach to support you to the next step in your journey. You don't have to do this alone. Currently, I offer telehealth appointments via a HIPPA compliant platform. Clients can expect a direct, client-centered, solution-focused approach within a non-judgemental, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive setting. My practice currently focuses on working with adults, parents, and/or couples who are seeking to make changes to enhance their everyday life.
