I received my doctorate in clinical psychology, with a concentration in couples and family therapy, from Yeshiva University in New York City. During my time in New York, I served as an intern at the United Nations for the American Psychological Association (APA) and learned about mental health challenges faced by various nations. I completed my APA-approved internship and postdoctoral fellowship in San Francisco, CA. I have trained and worked in a variety of clinical settings before starting in private practice. I am licensed in Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, and California. Having worked in some of the most ethnically, economically, and culturally diverse cities in the country, I am sensitive to the mental health needs of individuals with diverse backgrounds. I pride myself in being a generalist who enjoys working with clients of all ages, and varied mental health needs. My clinical interests include stress management, adjustment issues, relationship and family conflict, self-esteem and identity development, grief and loss, trauma, and problems with emotional and behavioral control. As a therapist, I believe in building upon strengths of clients to create change and tailor my treatments to meet their unique needs. I employ an integrative approach to psychotherapy, using psychodynamic and family therapy models in collaboration with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, etc. I continue to expand my skill set in couples and family therapy, and have completed Levels I, II, and III trainings in Gottman Method Couple's Therapy. I believe that the foundation of effective therapy is a trusting and collaborative relationship and my approach is guided by this principle. In our work together, I strive to create a supportive environment that helps you embrace your strengths and promotes your growth.
