Hello and welcome; My name Lee Thao, and I am a therapist in the Twin Cities. My work focuses on helping individuals experiencing everyday life stress/challenges, difficulties with racial identity, relationships, family conflict, and those with a history of trauma including complex trauma from abuse and disruptive attachments. I help individuals heal by offering space to learn skills to build healthier relationships. My work focuses on restoring the self by working through the challenges that often feel like chains weighing us down. I believe in collaborating to help my clients reach their goals. Together we will work through the obstacles and setbacks to give you back control of the life you envision. I’m passionate about helping individuals from marginalized communities, BIPOC, immigrants, and refugees. As someone who has overcome adversity, I understand the depths and complexities of life challenges. The intersectionalities are complicated and woven into multiple layers of our lives. I understand the impact trauma can have in multiple areas of our lives. Whether it is direct trauma, historical trauma, community trauma, or generational trauma, this manifests in different ways and differently for each person. It may show up as anxiety, depression, melancholy, substance use, unstable relationships, self-doubt, irritability, or anger. Contrary to what it feels like at times - I believe we have choices, and we CAN make changes. We can lessen fears and symptoms by building up our tools to face our fears, better engage with others, and understand ourselves in a much more authentic and meaningful way. I am here and honored to be a part of your journey when you are ready to take the next step. I work best with individuals who are committed to working on themselves and determined to see progress and results. If you’re interested in scheduling a consultation with me, please send an appointment request.
