Hello- I have been active in my work as an addictions counselor since 2015. I am a certified SAP and certified EAGALA as a horse specialist and mental health professional. I am also an Agriculture Education Instructor with 23 years of experience. Born and raised in Montana in the life of agriculture, livestock and the outdoors. I am married to a law enforcement officer of 22 years. I have a masters in agri-business from Kansas State University. As a family we operate and Shire horse breeding program with lessons, judging and clinic services under Big Sky Shires. We also breed and show Hampshire and Dorset Sheep with our son under the name 7 Mile Hampshires. I got my start into addictions work doing equine assisted therapy at the local state prison in Glendive. I worked with an old cowboy LAC named Dennis Latka. He talked me into getting my chemical dependency classes through the local college. At the time I was teaching agriculture and equine sciences classes at the college. I completed my course work in addictions about the time that my position was cut from the college. I then went to work for District II Alcohol and Drug Program. I now own and operate my own business named Lead Changes Recovery & Equine Therapy Center in Glendive Montana. I enjoy working with all types of clients. However, I enjoy at risk youth and first responders most. I feel my family involvement in Law Enforcement allows me to better serve that population.
