Lawana strongly believes in the importance of the family unit and hopes to dedicate her efforts to strengthening them. She works from a family systemic perspective to heal relationships within the family dynamics. In all her clinical interests, she is most passionate about working with trauma as well as children and their families. Her therapeutic focus is in EMDR. She has been trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to enable her to help those who come with various forms of trauma, depression and anxiety disorders. She also incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when needed. Both Lawana’s education and her family life have given her a head start as a therapist. Her down to earth and straight forward approach, mixed with her personable and compassionate nature, create a safe environment for individuals and families alike.
